The real price of oil
Recent criticism has been directed at renewable energy supplies due to their high "real" costs. All criticism is welcome as it helps to refine and define this new market. Before I continue on the merits of renewable energy from the new oil fields I would like to present arguments on the real cost of petroleum oil. Please see images below.
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousands words.
When a tanker carrying canola oil breaks up off the coast of Spain, the fish are fed, not left for dead. Energy can come from the countryside and the great plains, not just from unstable country's and unjust cartels. North America has the land base to grow crops that will not only feed us, but also provide energy for our transportation, heating and electricity requirements.
